Camera Corps to feature Q-Ball Pre-Set

Demonstrated in prototype at IBC 2011 and now in full production, Q-Ball Pre-Set allows 18 shot settings (each consisting of pan angle, tilt angle, zoom and focus) to be stored prior to a live or real-time recorded shoot. more


New Media Links to highlight new video transmission interfaces

Media Links will highlight its newly announced four-port video transmission interfaces for the MD8000 transport solution at the 2012 NAB Show.


The MD8000-UVTX and MD8000-UVRX support JPEG2000 compressed and uncompressed 3-D dual-link, 3G-SDI, HD/SD-SDI and/or DVB-ASI signals over SONET/SDH, IP and DWDM based networks. more


Broadcast Pix to feature new Video Control Center 3.0 software

The new 3.0 software features optimized production control on a touch-screen, voice-automation control of switching and graphics, virtual sets that anyone can customize, and automated, dual-channel graphics that include Daktronics scoreboard integration. more


Hitachi to unveil new HD cameras for sports, EFP

hv-hd33-200.jpgHitachi Kokusai Electric America will make the U.S. introduction of a slow-motion HD camera capable of capturing video at 2.5X and 3X the speed of standard frame rate cameras.


The SK-HD1500 uses standard 2/3in Bayonet mount lenses and integrates easily into existing Hitachi SK-series camera infrastructures. Hitachi also will unveil the HV-HD33, a compact, 3-MOS sensor, multi-standard, POV HD camera, and the small, self-contained, signal sensor KP-HD20A HD camera. more


Thomson Broadcast to introduce ATSC-8000 DTV exciter

The new exciter is available in a compact 1RU platform and supports VHF or UHF operation. It allows broadcasters to transmit both fixed ATSC (A/53) and ATSC-M/H (A/153), delivering rich mobile DTV service to viewers. The ATSC-8000 is also available with optional A/110:2011 configuration.


In addition the ATSC-8000 exciter features Digital Adaptive Pre-correction (DAP), providing pinpoint correction of both linear and nonlinear distortions. The exciter also features an internal GPS receiver, dual transport stream (TS) inputs, front panel MMI for user configuration and a built-in Web GUI for remote access. more


AmberFin to introduce new version of Unified Quality Control

At NAB 2012, AmberFin will unveil a new version of UQC, the company’s Unified Quality Control solution for content ingest and transcoding operations.


AmberFin also will announce new multi-transcode capabilities for iCR, its file-based content ingest and transcoding system, and launch phase two of the broadcast-IT-workflow training program “Bruce’s Shorts,” which will include an enterprise version. more

Never.no has signed a preferred partnership agreement with Vizrt, under which both companies will promote and support each other’s products.

New Autocue server software adds support for Avid, Apple editing workflow

The company also will showcase a digital tally light that displays the camera number and instantly changes from red to green when live on air; an under-monitor talent clock that can also act as a tally, going green when on-air; and new USB hand and foot controls to ensure compatibility with the latest PC hardware. more


Boxx.tv to highlight new Meridian-Lite RF camera system

Boxx.tv will showcase its new Meridian-Lite entry-level RF camera system featuring zero delay transmission at the 2012 NAB Show.


Meridian-Lite features zero frame delay RF link for high-definition video, which delivers broadcast video and sound in sync. The system supports full 4:2:2 video, including all formats up to 1080p 30fps.

The Meridian Lite provides a simple interface for quick setup and ease of use. It has the same range and reliability as its high-end equivalent and is upgradable to provide all of the features of the full Meridian RF link. more


Jampro Antennas to feature JAT-U UHF Super Turnstile antenna

juhd3-2001.jpgJampro Antennas will highlight its recent acquisition of broadcast antenna, combiner/filter, tower and infrastructure service provider Alan Dick Broadcast at the 2012 NAB Show.


Jampro will highlight the JAT-U UHF Super Turnstile antenna, a radome-enclosed Band IV/V 470MHz to 860MHz antenna that can be top- or side-mounted on a tower. Well suited for broadband multichannel UHF applications, the antenna features minimum windloading while providing broadband response. more
