Telecast CopperHead INF
Previewed at IBC 2008 and now shipping, Telecast’s (SU8517) new CopperHead INF id s camera-mounted fiber optic transceiver for the Thomson Grass Valley Infinity camcorder. This enables the Infinity to be used as both a camcorder and an HD-SDI multi-cam production camera.
The interface fits between the camcorder and its battery, delivering bi-directional HD-SDI, composite video, audio, intercom, genlock, and camera control between the camera head and remote base station over an FO cable.
Optionally, remote powering of the camera is possible using SMPTE hybrid fiber cable.
The 1-RU base station integrates plugs directly into a facility’s switcher, router, intercom, and house sync systems. In addition, the CopperHead INF system permits iso-recording on each Infinity camcorder’s internal REV-PRO drive during multi-camera productions, allowing for additional post-production editing without the need for studio-style recorders.
