Nevion enables broadcasters to go green

Everyone is going green these days, and Nevion is one company that makes products that use less power, thereby reducing the cost of ownership for broadcasters.

Nevion provides routing and transport systems that encompass an array of video network interfaces and signal processing, a well as an integrated family of network management and control systems.

Flashlink is a signal processing and optical distribution solution that offers small form factors, low power consumption, ease of use and high reliability. It consumes about one-half to one-third less power and offers a reduced carbon footprint.

Flashlink 3G-SDI check field (pathological) signals were transported error-free over a distance of 120km (nearly 75mi) of G.652 single mode fiber without any kind of electrical regeneration or optical amplification.

Flashlink comes in three different enclosure modules that can be deployed easily in a wide variety of settings, from permanent central facilities to temporary event venues. The Flashlink FR-2RU 19in frame holds up to 10 modules and dual power supplies; its MOT-BOX version provides the same capacity in a lightweight rugged housing; and the N-Box is a rugged housing for meeting desktop and standalone application requirements with Flashlink Micro modules.
