With today’s increasingly important issue of power consumption, Harris announced the Maxiva ULX UHF liquid-cooled, solid-state transmitter. The transmitter provides a multimedia broadcaster with one compact transmitter platform capable of multiple modulation schemes. Featuring what Harris calls PowerSmart technology, Maxiva ULX liquid-cooled transmitters are ideal for all high-power UHF applications. The series relies on new 50-volt LDMOS devices, providing a dramatic increase in power density, making it possible for provide up to 8.7kW DVB-T average power or 26.2kW analog power in a single-cabinet.
The field-upgradeable design of the Maxiva ULX also makes it an ideal solution for any analog broadcaster planning a future transition to DVB-T, DVB-H, DVB-T2, ATSC, or other digital standards. more
