Chyron introduces Axis World Graphics to Europe

Chyron unveiled its Axis World Graphics platform, a cloud-based graphics creation system designed specifically for broadcasters, to the European market at IBC2011.


Axis World Graphics simplifies, streamlines and facilitates the graphics creation process, enabling reporters, production assistants and news producers to create broadcast-quality graphics using their own graphics package. more

Swedish national broadcaster deploys Cinegy Streaming Suite

cynegy-200.jpgSwedish national broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT) has deployed the Cinegy Streaming Suite of products, the company announced at IBC2011.


With the increase in video-over-IP-based equipment at SVT, including a fleet of IP SNG trucks, field encoders and the already existing contribution network, SVT needed to manage a variety of signals easily. more

Turkmenistan TV inks deal for end-to-end Harris broadcast solution

Turkmenistan TV, the state broadcaster in Turkmenistan, has ordered an end-to-end integrated Harris broadcast solution for a new station due to go on-air Oct. 1.


The order, which was awarded earlier this year by Turkmenistan TV, includes best-in-class Harris products that will furnish the company’s all new Tv-Tower facility in Ashgabat, including the master control rooms, production studios, Outside Broadcast vehicles, as well as the playout and news centers. Harris products also will be used to launch Turkmenistan TV’s first IPTV offering. more

Completed integration of ToolsOnAir with OCTOPUS6 targeted for IBC2011

At the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas, ToolsOnAir and OCTOPUS Newsroom introduced the integration of the ToolsOnAir just: Broadcast Suite and OCTOPUS6 multiplatform newsroom system.


ToolsOnAir’s long-term relationship with OCTOPUS Newsroom has already resulted in the development of a highly generic MOS gateway that is easy to install and provides integration with the OCTOPUS platform. The new partnership offers cost-effective, complete news production on MacOS X, making it well-suited for small channels or channels with standard workflow. The completed integration is targeted to coincide with the upcoming IBC2011. more

IBC – A new approach for new times

A typical approach to preplanning attendance at a trade show is to create a list of devices we need to replace or technologies we need for upcoming projects, and then looking up which vendors carry these products and setting some priorities. Booth tours and demos get scheduled; perhaps we may stop at a booth or two not on the schedule when something catches our eye. This tried-and-true approach has served to maximize our investment in time and travel dollars.


As we approach this year’s IBC, I propose we look at the opportunity differently. We are in a cash-constrained environment, where every investment needs to provide immediate return. Considering equipment alone is not sufficient, we need to think about operational impact and production efficiency before writing a check. more

Aveco to unveil ASTRA Studio 2 studio automation solution

Aveco will introduce ASTRA Studio 2 offering complete studio automation and an enhanced focus on content management at IBC2011.


ASTRA Studio 2 builds on the experience developed from the original version which offered a single operator control system for live studio and news production. The new product includes a new user interface that can run on Windows, Linux or Apple systems. more
