Chyron unveils LEX3.1 on-air graphics system with stereoscopic 3-D support
At IBC2011, Chyron will highlight its newly announced LEX3.1, the latest release of its on-air graphics system, which now offers free support for stereoscopic 3-D.
LEX3.1 is designed to meet the current performance requirements of users ranging from smaller sports broadcasters to national broadcast groups, as well as to give them the future opportunity to launch stereoscopic 3-D broadcasting, said Peter Morrone, Chyron SVP of engineering. more
David Cox joins Autoscript
David Cox has been appointed key accounts manager teleprompting specialist for Autoscript, the company said.
Cox brings more than 22 years of experience to his new role, having represented several other Vitec Group brands, including Anton/Bauer, OConnor, Sachtler and Vinten.
Prior to joining the Autoscript sales team, Cox spent the last seven years as Camera Dynamics’ Midwest regional sales manager, providing ENG/EFP camera support solutions to broadcast news operations and video production professionals.

Alfacam adds to Grass Valley camera lineup for new Indian sports coverage
Alfacam, operators of one of the largest outside broadcast fleet in Europe, is continuing its global expansion with major sporting contracts in India. As with all of Alfacam’s projects, the coverage depends upon Grass Valley cameras, including the LDK 8000 Elite and LDK 8300 Live Super Slo-Mo HD cameras.
Alfacam has had several flypacks, operated by Alfacam, based in India since the last quarter of 2010, covering international cricket tours, including teams from Australia and New Zealand. The company is also responsible for much of the coverage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) competitions, which required it to add a number of flypacks to its equipment roster in India. more
Completed integration of ToolsOnAir with OCTOPUS6 targeted for IBC2011
At the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas, ToolsOnAir and OCTOPUS Newsroom introduced the integration of the ToolsOnAir just: Broadcast Suite and OCTOPUS6 multiplatform newsroom system.
ToolsOnAir’s long-term relationship with OCTOPUS Newsroom has already resulted in the development of a highly generic MOS gateway that is easy to install and provides integration with the OCTOPUS platform. The new partnership offers cost-effective, complete news production on MacOS X, making it well-suited for small channels or channels with standard workflow. The completed integration is targeted to coincide with the upcoming IBC2011. more
