Camera Corps launched the Q-Ball Pre-Set, a major addition to its range of speciality remote cameras at IBC2011. Developed in response to the company’s own operational requirements and feedback from customers, Q-Ball Pre-Set is a remotely controlled HD/SD camera head that can store up to 18 preset pan, tilt, zoom and focus positions when used with Camera Corps large PTZF switcher and joystick control unit. more
NTP Technology introduced the PENTA 725 IP audio router, which enables audio routing over IP-based Gigabit Ethernet with linear PCM audio quality and sub-millisecond latency, at IBC2011.
Housed in a compact 1RU high 19in chassis, the router has a capacity of 1024 x 1024 crosspoints and can accommodate 64 bi-directional channels via IP. It also can be populated to handle 64 AES3 input/output channels, six optical MADI channels and optional sampling-rate converters interfaces. more
Prompter People introduced RoboPrompter, designed specifically for today’s self-contained robotic cameras such as the Panasonic AW-HE100 and Sony BRC series, at IBC2011. RoboPrompter encloses the robotic camera for unhindered camera movement while providing easy access to camera controls. more
Danmon Systems Group (DSG) unveiled its new IP-based television studio control system at IBC2011. Based on integrated pan-tilt-zoom HD/SD cameras, the system can be driven from the standard Internet browser at network headquarters. Features include full camera and pedestal control, return monitoring and 60in height-adjustable background display screens. more
Hiltron introduced the Hiltron HSACU satellite newsgathering (SNG) controller, which provided fully automated satellite auto-acquisition, at IBC2011.
Full control of the Hiltron HSACU can be performed locally or from a remote IP browser. Local control is achieved via front-panel pushbuttons and a color touch-panel graphic display. In IP remote control mode, the entire system can be controlled from wherever is convenient. Fully automated acquisition of accessible satellites can be achieved within less than two minutes. An internal DVB-S/S2 tuner is provided for satellite verification. more
Adobe Systems announced at IBC2011 the release of new streaming video solutions, including Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5 and Flash Access 3.0 software. With Flash Media Server 4.5, media publishers can extend their mobile reach via Flash-enabled devices with the new ability to deliver video content to Apple’s iPad and iPhone devices. more
DTS and Digital Rapids announced the companies’ first tools to support the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem’s (DECE) UltraViolet standard at IBC2011. DTS showcased its newly launched DTS MediaPlayer, using UltraViolet Common File Format (CFF) files created with version 2.0 of the Digital Rapids Transcode Manager automated transcoding software.
Digital Rapids Transcode Manager 2.0 offers encoding and multiplexing of a wide range of profiles of the DTS-HD codec, from lossless DTS-HD Master Audio down to low bit-rate DTS Express. more
Broadcast dry hire and systems rental specialist Presteigne Charter has chosen Custom Consoles Module-R studio furniture for a transportable International Broadcast Centre (IBC) to be used during a major series of marine sporting events.
Working in association with the event organizers, Presteigne Charter will design, integrate, operate and maintain the IBC as a fully equipped custom-built structure occupying eight 40ft containers. These will provide the resources needed to televise the regattas to viewers around the world. more

With continuous real-time monitoring of all streams, detecting everything from packet loss to freeze-frame conditions, TalkTalk gains true control and understanding of the service quality as it leaves the head-end. more
PrimeTel Cyprus has deployed Anevia’s video streaming solution and service infrastructure for live TV and video on demand (VOD). The private Cypriot telecommunications carrier operates an ADSL platform, a fiber-optic network, a next-generation submarine cable system and a mobile phone service. PrimeTel offers triple-play packages to retail customers, combining broadband Internet, telephony and IPTV services.
Anevia’s ViaDemand is a carrier-grade software solution based on its circular buffer technology for delivering VOD and time-shifting through IPTV networks. more
