Rhozet’s Carbon Coder

Rhozet’s Carbon CoderRhozet is demonstrating the Carbon Coder. This is a universal transcoding application that enables the transfer of media between applications like acquisition, editing, playout, Web apps or mobile channels. It supports more tha 40 major formats and can run as a stand-alone application or as part of a multinode, fully-automated rendering farm under the control of Carbon Server.

As part of the transcode process, Carbon Coder handles a wide array of related tasks including; SD/HD conversion, PAL/NTSC conversion, logo insertion, color space conversion, color correction, and closed captioning extraction. Carbon Coder can be run via its user interface or via an XML-based API that is included with the product. The same API controls both Carbon Coder and Carbon Server. Some of the formats it supports include; MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.263, H.264, VC-1, Flash, DV25, DV50, DVCPro

DPS, DivX, JPEG 2000, DNxHD, AVCIntra, Windows Media and RealVideo. That pretty much covers the playing field.
