AmberFin releases iCR 4.0
AmberFin today announces the launch of the latest version of its iCR software, an open-standards platform technology that can digitize and transform new and archived content.
AmberFin iCR 4.0 includes SD/HD ingest and is optimized for open storage servers, with integrated review and quality control. Its repurposing module has been enhanced to enable it to reduce file sizes by as much as 25 percent.
The platform also provides increased interoperability with Apple FCP and Avid editing systems.

Other key features and benefits of iCR 4.0 include: A new “Pixel Adaptive” conversion technique that transforms any type of content to progressive pictures, providing an improvement in perceived quality along with significant bit rate reduction
The platform also provides automated distribution and load balancing of repurposing tasks over a network of iCR systems. The result is shorter rendering times and optimal usage of computing resources. It provides; MXF cutting and splicing, the ability to extract one or multiple segments of MXF files to perform partial extraction or clip segmentation and the ability to splice and merge multiple clips to create new versions such as commercial extractions or insertions. The system has increase its support for Panasonic P2 and Sony XDCAM formats.
