Cyprus-based broadcaster Capital TV has invested in a Fairlight Xynergi with a 12-fader sidecar, which has been installed in the broadcaster’s first dedicated audio post production suite.
Capital TV, which is based in Limassol and produces a daily mix of local news, magazine and sports programming, recently decided to expand its business by offering facilities for dubbing and trailer production.
After taking advice from KEM Electronics in Athens, engineers George Vereketis and Thanasis Kolovos chose Fairlight Xynergi because it offered all the speed and flexibility they needed to increase workflow through the new suite. more…

DK-Technologies has supplied four of its flagship MSD600M++ audio meters to award-winning sound design studio Wave so that the facility can tackle the issue of the perceived loudness of audio signals and monitor audio in mono, stereo and 5.1.
All four meters are loaded with DK-Technologies’ latest software, which includes JellyFish™ and StarFish™ display technology and the company’s new loudness measuring methods that provide additions to the LEQ (m) and Flat Filtering methods available in earlier software versions. With this upgrade, engineers can now measure loudness according to the recently proposed ITU recommendations, as well as to the widely used LEQ(a) used with Dialnorm for measuring dialogue. more…
DK-Technologies has supplied Sony Broadcast with four PT5300 Sync and Test Signal Generators, which are currently being installed in two new Outside Broadcast vehicles destined for Serbian state broadcaster RTS.
The 12-camera HD-ready vehicles will be used to capture sports programming and other live events. Sony Broadcast will complete the first truck at the end of this year and the second in 2009.
All four of the PT5300 units are fitted with DK-Technologies’ new global positioning system (GPS) genlock option, which enables ultimate timing stability of the generators by locking against a GPS time reference. more…
