Gilze, the Netherlands - March 2008 - AXON‘s modular infrastructure and communications system Synapse has been enhanced with the release of the GQW200: a 3Gb/s, HD, SD-SDI quad split to QWXGA converter which form the building blocks of the modular multi-viewer.
The GQW200 quad-split cards can be used to build a very flexible multi-view system. A multi-viewer can easily be expanded by the addition of another GQW200 per 4 channels, resulting in an 8 channel multi-viewer. more
It hasn‘t taken SYNNER HD long to start simplifying system designs. Shipping now, Crystal Vision‘s latest multi-functional HD product combines on one board the traditional functionality of five different products - video synchroniser, tracking audio delay, embedder, de-embedder and audio processor - making it suitable for any applications involving untimed HD or SD video and associated audio. Not only does this ability to be used in many different ways give enhanced flexibility to the system designer, it also brings significant cost and rack space savings. more
New from Crystal Vision is ALLDAC - a 12 bit broadcast encoding converter and distribution amplifier which takes all the best features from the company‘s existing DACs and combines them into one affordable product.
ALLDAC has been designed to convert SDI into combinations of analogue and digital and to do so in an extremely flexible way. It can be used with three different frame rear modules - the RM01, RM02 and RM18 - providing up to eight analogue and four reclocked SDI outputs and allowing the broadcast engineer to choose exactly what he needs for his application, with eleven different output combinations possible when using the RM18. The analogue outputs can be configured as a mixture of composite, Y/C, YUV and RGB by board edge or remote control, while the number of reclocked SDI outputs can be selected by adjusting on-board links. more
Broadcast engineers working in either definition will find something to interest them on the Crystal Vision stand (B47) at Broadcast LIVE and VideoForum - the highly-anticipated new UK show which takes place at Earls Court 2 in London between 30th January and 1st February.
Some of the products on show will be those which were first announced at last year‘s IBC and which are now shipping. For virtual studio users and sports graphics providers there‘s Safire SD 2 - the Standard Definition chroma keyer designed to provide an easy upgrade path to HD. Aimed at broadcast engineers who are not operating in HD at the moment but will do so in the near future, Safire SD 2 uses the same hardware platform as the High Definition Safire HD 2 but its operation is restricted to SD - until the customer chooses to upgrade to full HD operation by swapping the module‘s daughter board for a new one. Those working in multi-standard environments should come along and see Q-Down-A - the most recent version of Crystal Vision‘s flexible down converter and distribution amplifier which is now shipping. more
