ROANOKE, VA, June 2, 2008—Optical Cable Corporation (Nasdaq GM:OCCF) announced today that it has acquired Superior Modular Products Incorporated (doing business as SMP Data Communications), a leading supplier of fiber optic and copper connectivity products for the data communications industry. The transaction was consummated on May 30, 2008, and now SMP Data Communications is a wholly owned subsidiary of Optical Cable Corporation. Optical Cable Corporation acquired SMP Data Communications from Preformed Line Products Company (Nasdaq GM: PLPC) for a purchase price of $11.5 million, subject to certain minimum working capital requirements and related purchase price adjustments. The transaction was effected by an Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated May 30, 2008, whereby SMP Data Communications merged with a newly formed wholly owned subsidiary of Optical Cable Corporation.

Prism Sound, manufacturer of premium-quality interfaces and converters for the recording and broadcast markets, has acquired the business and intellectual property rights of SADiE, formerly owned by Studio Audio and Video Ltd.
The acquisition marks a new chapter in the histories of both businesses. The SADiE brand has long been held in high regard by the pro audio and broadcast industries for the quality and performance of its PC-based digital audio workstation products. Prism Sound is best known by this market for its high end A/D and D/A converters for mastering, tracking and post production. The merging of the two businesses under the Prism Sound name creates a stronger and more potent player in the market for high-quality audio production tools.
Prism Sound directors Graham Boswell and Ian Dennis negotiated the deal after learning that SADiE Studio Audio & Video Ltd had gone into administration in February. more

July 30, 2007, Microwave Radio Communications today announced its US parent company, Vislink Holdings Inc has acquired Focus Communications, Inc, trading as Western Technical Services (WTS).
WTS, based in Orange County, California, specializes in the design and installation of video and data microwave communications, Electronic News Gathering (ENG), Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE), cellular and PCS, satellite, video surveillance, fiber optics and site control systems. WTS has been a Value Added Reseller (VAR) representing Microwave Radio Communications since its formation in 1990. WTS currently employs circa 20 people. The founders and management team are all remaining to expand the business substantially following the acquisition.
