HEBDEN BRIDGE, U.K. — March 28, 2012 — Calrec Audio today announced that Rogers Media, owner of several Citytv(TM), OMNI, and SportsNet stations throughout western Canada, has purchased a set of Calrec Artemis audio consoles for its Vancouver, British Columbia, facility, which is home to the Citytv Vancouver, OMNI BC, and SportsNet Pacific channels. The purchase includes a 40-fader Artemis Beam console for the larger of the facility’s two control rooms and a 16-fader Artemis Light for the smaller room. Leading liberal arts institution, Molloy College, of Long Island, NY, will be participating in the Broadcast Education Association panel discussion during NAB, “Tomorrow’s Needs Today: Making the Argument for Upgrade,” on Wednesday, April 18 at The Las Vegas Hilton. Molloy College first met with Integrated Media Technologies, Inc. (IMT) at NAB 2011 to determine the best way to upgrade their SD production facilities to full HD specs.
As media technologies continue to evolve and previous generations become obsolete, communications programs in small schools are reaching the threshold of maintaining traditional curriculum while deciding what new media to adopt and use. The BEA panel discusses strategies in proposing new media upgrades and the struggles of adopting a new program. Panelists are currently upgrading or have recently upgraded their traditional communications curriculum.
Improvements at New York and London Branches Support Global Renovation Plan
LOS ANGELES, CA, MARCH, 28, 2012 - Pacific Television Center (PacTV), a Los Angeles-based independent global transmission and production company, recently completed a major renovation of its master control room (MCR) in Los Angeles, significantly enhancing the company’s monitoring and transmission capabilities. As a result of installing five new workstations-the old MCR staffed just two-and a total of 12 screens, the redesign has enabled PacTV to increase the number of feeds it monitors from 64 to 162, with the company projecting it will monitor 240 feeds once the monitoring wall is fully populated later this year.
