Avid Announces Enhancements to AirSpeed Multi Stream Video Server with Version 1.1

Avid has released an enhanced version of its AirSpeed Multi Stream video server to offer customers additional format support and playout workflow benefits. Building on Version 1.0, which offers a fast and fluid solution for XDCAM HD newsroom workflows, this free software upgrade offers the following:

The addition of 720p ingest and playout support: Customers now have the ability to work with either 720p or 1080i screen scanning formats, opening up options within workflows. This allows them to switch from their standardized format, or to accept and work with material that has a different format.

International Character support (ICS support): This new feature allows customers to enter file names in their native language into user database fields (French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean).

HD Studio support: Customers using an HD workflow can now take advantage of AirSpeed Studio support, which provides highly reliable and efficient redundant playback between server systems. If one unit or channel fails, the same material will be played from any other AirSpeed Multi Stream server for accurate, instant event playout regardless of unit failure, which prevents costly downtime.
