AXON at Broadcast Asia

AXON booth at Broadcast Asia AXON announces that it will be present at this year Broadcast Asia (held in Singapore from June 16-19) with its extensive range of Synapse modules and its compliance recording system TRACS. AXON can be found at the stand 8F2-01.

On display are AXON’s its low latency modular multiviewer for up to 72 3Gb/s, HD and or SD inputs. These multiviewers are especially suited for production video walls, multi-head systems and master control systems. Furthermore AXON will show other modules of its extensive modular range of signal processing equipment Synapse which includes amongst others, besides the normal conversion equipment, 3Gb/s, HD, SD logo inserters, up/down/cross standards converters. Just released are the 3Gb/s, HD, SD keyers. The Synapse product range also has a full range of Dolby & Dolby Digital (Plus) encoders and decoders.

AXON will furthermore show its AXON Cortex control and monitoring software. The AXON Cortex software application makes the implementation of multiple video and audio signal paths easier, more efficient and cost-effective than ever. Cortex provides comprehensive tools to configure, monitor and maintain not only the complete range of Synapse products, but also a wide variety of other devices. The result is that you, and limitless numbers of users, can take total control over multiple and complex routines. Ultimately, you can make your work flow how you want it to flow. It can also optionally control and monitor 3rd party devices using either router or SNMP protocols.

Also on display is AXON’s compliance system, TRACS2. AXON has distilled its 25-year experience in broadcasting technology, plus a further six years of specific disk-recording development, into the 3rd generation release of its compliance recording system. This has resulted in completely new system hardware and software which offers greatly improved features and performance.

TRACS2 is built on custom-developed 1RU frames, which now include redundant power supplies and three RAID 5-configured, front-removable hard disks. The newly designed front panel has a display that is controlled using a rotary dial.

The display shows system-alerts, and users can adjust system-settings via the rotary dial. The GUI is completely redesigned as well; it is more powerful and is still free-of-charge. To make compliance recording even more efficient and compact for large companies, AXON is launching an eight-input encoder. This 1RU unit has eight SDI inputs and no local storage. It encodes all inputs to MPEG2 or MPEG4 and stores material, via FTP, on third-party servers.
