Triveni Digital Joins Harris Corporation, LG Electronics, MobiTV®, and Roundbox™ to Provide Live Mobile Digital TV Demo at NAB

PRINCETON, N.J. — April 20, 2009 — Triveni Digital today announced that it will join Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), LG Electronics Inc., Zenith Electronics, MobiTV® Inc., and Roundbox™ Inc. to provide a demonstration of ATSC Mobile TV, including single-frequency network (SFN) capabilities, at the 2009 National Association of Broadcasters Show. Operating in conjunction with Harris encoding, muxing, SFN, and transmitter systems, the Triveni Digital GuideBuilder™ platform, equipped with a new mobile metadata software extension, will generate the metadata used by MobiTV to deliver its service over ATSC Mobile standard as part of a hybrid broadcast and unicast service. Roundbox will be contributing its A/153 Part 4 standards-based announcements, while LG will provide mobile DTV receivers based on the broadcast mobile DTV system co-developed by Harris, LG Electronics, and LG’s U.S. R&D subsidiary Zenith Electronics.

Triveni Digital’s mobile metadata software extension for GuideBuilder integrates metadata management and generation for mobile DTV directly into the widely deployed PSIP system, providing broadcasters with a cost-effective means of introducing mobile services from their existing broadcast infrastructures.

Deployed in a working model of the ATSC mobile broadcast chain, the enhanced GuideBuilder system at the 2009 NAB Show demonstration will gather schedule information and synchronize with Harris equipment to generate signaling metadata. The transmission of metadata to mobile ATSC receivers will supply information about the current show, duration, rating, and other characteristics. With an end-to-end model of mobile TV delivery on display, attendees at the 2009 NAB Show and visitors to the Harris booth (N2502) and to the ATSC Mobile DTV Pavilion (C8546, C8546I) can see how easily broadcasters can use these integrated technologies to launch mobile TV services.

“GuideBuilder today offers more than reliable and accurate PSIP generation; users now can update and implement their existing GuideBuilder systems to generate the metadata necessary for effective delivery of mobile broadcasts — and do so without making significant and costly changes to their existing broadcast plants and workflows,” said Ralph Bachofen, vice president of sales and head of marketing at Triveni Digital. “We are confident that this exciting workflow and integration demonstration will be among the highlights of mobile media delivery technology at the 2009 NAB Show.”

The GuideBuilder system provides mission-critical operational capabilities for both content providers and network operators by generating accurate metadata, whether for television sets or mobile devices. Fully automated redundancy, support for centralized PSIP generation, and tight integration with multiplexers, traffic systems, and automation systems make it easy to incorporate the GuideBuilder into existing broadcast infrastructures.
