Triveni Digital to Showcase Affordable, Simple Remote MPEG Monitoring Solution at 2009 NAB Show

PRINCETON, N.J. — April 7, 2009 — Triveni Digital today announced that it will highlight new cost-saving monitoring systems at the 2009 NAB Show including the StreamScope™ RM-40SE MPEG video monitoring solution. Two preconfigured low-cost options are available — an 8VSB/QAM or ASI monitoring probe that can be located at transmitter sites for continuous, real-time monitoring of the DTV signal. The RM-40SE makes it easy and affordable for broadcasters to maintain continuous service and to debug issues rapidly as they arise.

“The StreamScope RM-40SE offers the broadcast market an inexpensive means of implementing 24-hour monitoring and serves as a convenient and cost-effective tool for monitoring remote parts of the broadcast operation,” said Ralph Bachofen, vice president of sales and head of marketing at Triveni Digital. “While independently providing valuable MPEG monitoring from 8VSB/QAM or ASI sources, the RM-40SE also can be combined with our end-to-end monitoring systems to provide a complete picture of stream health across the broadcaster’s network.”

The RM-40SE is a full-featured, in-depth, 24/7 unattended remote monitoring instrument that performs comprehensive MPEG monitoring for real-time RF or ASI streams and offers all the analysis functionality of the RM-40 base and High Bandwidth Edition (HBE). The RM-40SE remotely monitors, measures, and records DTV streams to ensure their integrity, reliability, and compliance with standards. In addition to the well-established standards supported by the StreamScope line, including ATSC A/78 and ETR 101 290, Triveni Digital’s RM-40SE now also represents the first implementation of the new SCTE-142 standard.

The included Remote Troubleshooting Module (RTM) provides remote analysis capabilities including a unique postmortem analysis feature that allows users to analyze/debug issues up to two weeks in the past. Used in conjunction with Triveni Digital’s MT-40 or EM-40 end-to-end, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 transport stream monitoring and analysis system in a distributed network architecture, the RM-40SE also enables stream comparison across the network.
