NEUTRIK® INTRODUCES 32 AMP POWERCON® AT NAB 2008

PowerCon LAS VEGAS, NV - Neutrik, designer and manufacturer of the XX series XLR cable connector, introduces its enhanced 32 Amp PowerCon® at NAB 2008 (Booth N9029), for the demanding current handling and power transfer required for high-power broadcast distribution systems.

Neutrik‘s enhanced 32 Amp PowerCon is a locking 3-conductor AC connector system with contacts for line, neutral and pre-mating ground. Ideal for high-power distribution systems and supplies for professional audio and lighting broadcast equipment, it replaces appliance couplers wherever a very rugged solution, in combination with a locking device, is required in order to guarantee a safe power connection. The system consists of two connectors - a chassis receptacle and an in-line cable connector with locking mechanism.

PowerCon - 2 PowerCon can be used as a power supply interface for industrial applications and has the advantage of a secure locking system, not available with standard AC power connectors. The connectors fulfill all current UL safety standards and is UL recognized. The PowerCon is a connector without breaking capacity, and should not be connected or disconnected under load or live situations.

“Our new 32 Amp PowerCon is an extremely robust and reliable system for the demanding power transfer and load needed for high-power broadcast distribution,” says Jim Cowan, president of Neutrik USA. “It‘s fast and easy locking system and excellent cable retention make it the must-use product for both fixed and mobile productions.”

Neutrik manufactures a wide array of XLR connectors and receptacles, jacks and plugs, speaker connectors and accessories for the professional audio industry. Neutrik USA is located at 195 Lehigh Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
