Broadcasters in Australia, New Zealand, and Miami Can Now Transmit Video Content to Locations Across the Globe
NEW YORK — Oct. 2, 2007 — Genesis Networks, a provider of next-generation global video transmission services, today announced that it has added three new third-party switching centers to its worldwide network for occasional video transmissions as additions to its extensive network of broadcaster locations and distribution hubs. Inc.‘s revolutionary DIGISUPER 22xs Compact Studio lenses, which deliver the performance of traditional “box-style” HD studio lenses in a size scaled for portable HD cameras.
VERSUS, the national cable television home of the National Hockey League and the Stanley Cup Playoffs as well as best-in-class events like the Tour de France and the America’s Cup, has acquired a Solid State Logic C100 HD Digital Broadcast Console for its new, 18,000 square-foot facility.
The C100 HD will be used in live sports programming at the new facility, adjacent to its previous location and constructed to accommodate the company‘s explosive growth. VERSUS, a wholly owned company of Comcast Corporation, has constructed a 25,000 square-foot space. The complex will meet the increased demand of the network‘s expanding sports entertainment offerings, which now includes college football action from the Pac 10 and Big 12, Mixed Martial Arts, this year‘s Rugby World Cup, and the track and field world championships from Japan.
RF Central, a leading digital microwave technology provider, will introduce its new RFX-RMR-II 2GHz rack-mounted receiver at HD World 2007 (Booth #221). The unit offers complete HD upgradeability with the latest in high-quality, low-delay, HD decoding technology.
The RMR-II will receive both standard and high definition signals and output composite video, SDI (HD) or DVB-ASI depending on the source. Featuring an array of audio capabilities, including analog, digital and fully embedded audio outputs, the RMR-II is designed to provide exceptional performance for central receive sites, ENG and fixed link applications. The RMR-II offers robust RF performance with exceptional adjacent channel rejection and is built with a state-of-the-art fully upgradeable COFDM decoder. Demodulation modes include QPSK, 16 QAM and 64 QAM with auto detection. While presently available in the 2GHz frequency band, additional frequencies will be available upon request.
