Netia and Pleyo Ease Media Delivery Over New Distribution Channels

New Product Pairing on Display at IBC2007 Results in Powerful, Cost-Effective, and Easy-to-Use Interface for Compiling and Delivering Program Packages

CLARET, France — Aug. 30, 2007 – At IBC2007, NETIA will be showcasing the integration of its Hypercast Warehouse Web, an integral part of the company’s Manreo content management system, with the Pleyo platform for broadcasting audio and video content via mobile phones, personal media players, set-top-boxes, TV decoders, and PVRs, among others. Together, the Pleyo and NETIA systems allow broadcasters to select programs and content types based on set criteria and then create program schedules for new revenue-generating services delivered over a variety of distribution channels.

“Broadcasters and other content owners today are aware that to maximize the potential of new distribution channels, they must first implement an efficient and cost-effective means of preparing content for those channels,” said Pierre Keiflin, NETIA vice president. “When combined with the Pleyo platform, the newest release of our Warehouse Web system allows users to compile and deliver programming quickly through intuitive interfaces. The power and simplicity of this integrated solution offers the functionality and ease of use necessary for profitable repurposing and distribution of media assets.”

Warehouse Web Version 2.0 from NETIA is an audio and video broadcast and display platform that opens up new services and revenue opportunities for Manreo users. The full-featured software solution provides companies with a system for centralizing, sharing, and viewing audio, image, and video archives, and broadcasting them across multiple distribution channels. The integration of the Pleyo solution with Manreo’s Warehouse Web simplifies the creation and delivery of program packages for delivery via the rapidly growing range of viewing platforms and devices.

Because Warehouse Web 2.0 is built on the REST (Representational State Transfer) architecture and includes XML Web Services, it can offer users a choice of four easy-to-use interfaces. The software’s Catalog Interface provides a global view of all files and metadata while enabling powerful searches; the Terminology Interface manages the Thesaurus and allows users to add, delete, and modify words and interaction between words; the Media Interface manages the storage of both audio and video files; and the Monitoring Interface lets users track file conversion and publishing to various platforms.

The demonstration of Pleyo and Hypercast Warehouse Web at IBC2007 booth 8.241 will rely on AJAX, XHTML, and other Web services technologies to provide a solution compatible with a broad range of end devices.
