Broadcast Engineering announces Pick Hit winners
Broadcast Engineering’s Pick Hit awards are the industry’s longest-running product technology awards for broadcast and production. With a 24-year history, Pick Hits are the most prestigious technical awards given at NAB.
At the 2008 NAB Show, a panel of independent judges toured the exhibition floor for three days, looking for innovative technology. They then met to make their selections based on multiple criteria, including the technical and financial improvements the products can bring to a facility’s operation. Our editors and publisher have no vote in the selection process.

I find it a bit odd that they gave out 40 awards and that not one of the RED Camera products were included? While I do think the hype surrounding the entire company is a bit over the top, it is hard to deny that their products and price points were not one of the top 3 products at NAB in 2007 and again in 2008. How could anyone leave them off the TOP 40 especially when the Sony EX3 and the Panasonic Varicams are in? I saw them all 3 of these cameras at NAB 2008 and I would spend my money on RED for the feature set alone. Once you add the price points, it’s a no brainer.

Hi Christian,
The RED ONE was a Pick Hit winner in 2007. To be considered for a Pick Hit, the product must be new and not shown at a previous NAB.

I was referring to the Scarlet camera and the Red Ray so why were those overlooked?
